Rockin' it Balm Jovi style {Review}

Hola darlings! I finally got my hands onto some theBalm products and today I'd like to share my humble opinion on this unique and fun palette called Balm Jovi.

¡Hola queridas! Finalmente puse mis manos sobre algunos productos de theBalm y hoy quiero compartir mi humilde opinión sobre esta paleta tan original y divertida llamada Balm Jovi.

The name of the palette is a clever wordplay, as are most of the names of the products included. This ensemble has the perfect amount of neutral shades as well as many vibrant and fun colours. It even comes with a blush, a highlighter and two lipsticks that can also be used on the cheeks.

El nombre de la paleta es un listo juego de palabras, al igual que lo son los nombres de los productos incluídos. Este set tiene la cantidad perfecta de tonos neutrales, así como también varios colores vibrantes y divertidos. Incluso viene con un rubor, un iluminador y dos labiales que también pueden ser usados en las mejillas.  

The first row of eyeshadows is called Heavy Metal and as the name clearly states, these are your metallic colours. The pigmentation of the eyeshadows is out of this world; they are unbelievably soft therefore some fall out can be expected.

La primer fila de sombras se llama Heavy Metal y como bien lo dice su nombre, estos son los colores metálicos. La pigmentación de estas sombras es de otro mundo; son increíblemente suaves por lo que puede esperarse algo de polvillo.

Iron Maid-in: Shimmery light yellow gold | Amarillo oro claro brillante
Lead Zeppelin: Dark olive green with gold glitter | Verde oliva oscuro con brillos dorados
Alice Copper: Reddish burgundy with silver glitter | Borgoña rojizo con brillos plateados

The second row of eyeshadows are your neutrals, never better called Classical. The great selection of matte shades allows you to rapidly transform a daytime makeup into a night look. The only colour I'm not entirely happy with is Presto because it's not as pigmented as the others.

La segunda fila de sombras es totalmente neutra, nunca mejor llamada Classical. La gran selección de tonos mate permite rápidamente transformar un maquillaje de día en un look de noche. El único color con el que no estoy del todo contenta es Presto porque no es tan pigmentado como los otros.

Adagio: Light cream | Crema claro
Allegro: Medium warm brown | Marrón cálido medio
Moderato: Dark brownish purple | Morado oscuro amarronado
Presto: Chocolate brown | Marrón chocolate

On the third row, named Alternative, we find the shades that, in my opinion, take this palette to a higher level. Needless to say, these are my favourites colours of them all. They're interesting, multidimensional and blend flawlessly.

En la tercer fila, llamada Alternative, se encuentran los tonos que, en mi opinión, colocan esta paleta en un nivel superior. No necesito decir que estos son mis favoritos totales. Son interesantes, multidimensionales y se esfuman sin problemas.

Blink 1982: Pearly warm taupe | Gris pardo cálido perlado
The Stroke: Black with electric blue glitter | Negro con brillantina azul eléctrico
rem: Satin duo chrome mauve-antique gold | Duo cromo malva-oro viejo satinado
Third Eye Blinded: Pearly pinkish champagne | Champagne rosado perlado

I couldn't be happier with either the highlighter or the blush. The 'luminizer' is a beautiful golden champagne colour, super soft and easily blendable; and the blush is a satin coral-pink shade, uber pigmented, suitable for a wide range of skin tones.

No podría estar más feliz tanto con el iluminador como con el rubor. El 'luminizer' es un hermoso color champagne dorado, súper suave y muy fácil de esfumar; y el rubor es un rosa-coral satinado, uber pigmentado, apropiado para un amplio rango de pieles.

Finally we have the lipsticks, Milly and Vanilly, cute, pigmented, wearable. Milly is a rosey nude, while Vanilly is a cherry red. I recommend applying these with a lip brush to make the most out of them.

Finalmente tenemos los labiales, Milly y Vanilly, lindos, pigmentados, usables. Milly es un nude rosado, mientras que Vanilly es un rojo cereza. Recomiendo aplicarlos con una brocha de labios para sacar mayor provecho.

The first time I saw the Balm Jovi palette was in one of Emily's videos and immediatelly knew it had to be mine. The way she described everything so enthusiastically sold me in seconds. Twelve eyeshadows + face and lip products, I mean, what more could you ask for, right? Some eyeshadows have some fall out, but overall I think the quality of all products included is excellent and they're long lasting, and as far as the eyeshadows go, I'd rather have pigmented colours with a bit of fall out than no colour pay off at all. One thing you must bear in mind is that the packaging is cardboard, very well constructed and sturdy, comes with a heart-shaped mirror and the covers are magnetized, but still it is going to get easily dirty (I use baby wipes to clean it) and with time it could deteriorate. Bottom line is, if you're a makeup nerd such as myself, you need this in your life. Everytime you use it you will love it and that's going to make you want to pull it out often so you can totally justify the splurge, because it's not cheap. Some of the eyeshadows can be duped, others cannot, which makes this palette a novel addition to your collection. If you're not a nerd, you're probably going to want it anyway, just because it is so damn cool!.

La primera vez que vi la paleta Balm Jovi fue en uno de los videos de Emily e inmediatamente supe que tenía que ser mía. La manera en que ella la describía tan entusiasmada me compró en segundos. Doce sombras + productos de rostro y labios, o sea, ¿qué más se puede pedir, verdad? Algunas de las sombras causan polvillo, pero en general pienso que la calidad de todos los productos incluidos es excelente y de larga duración, y en cuanto a las sombras se refiere, prefiero tener colores pigmentados con un poco de polvillo que colores traslúcidos. Una cosa a tener en mente es que el packaging es de cartón, muy bien construído y firme, viene con un espejo en forma de corazón y las cubiertas son magnetizadas, pero de todas formas se va a ensuciar fácilmente (uso totallitas de bebé para limpiarlo) y con el tiempo podría deteriorarse. En pocas palabras, si eres una makeup nerd como yo, necesitás esta paleta en tu vida. Cada vez que la uses la vas a adorar y eso hará que la utilices más seguido lo que justificará totalmente el gasto, porque no es barata. Algunas de las sombras pueden ser duplicadas, otras no, lo que hace de esta paleta una adición novedosa a tu colección. Si no eres una nerd, creo que igual vas a desearla, ¡sólo porque es increíblemente genial!.
